Several of the U14 boys have been playing together for years. The first year they played in U8 they only won their very last game of the Spring season in the lowest flight. There were a few transitions over the years but the boys always functioned as a team. They realized that each one of them had different strengths that all together were essential to the success of the team. Many of them began to get comfortable in one position and worked on mastering their job in that place. They were committed and practiced hard over the years eventually moving up to B flight. They have played in the B flight the past 4 years and have been a very competitive team in the NCSA as well as placing first place in several competitive tournaments. They also placed first in their flight as a U12 team in regular season. This past Fall, which was unknowingly their last season together, they placed second in their B flight division and offered opponents tough competition. They were registered to play in the NCSA cup for the first time this Spring where they were expected to fare well. Unfortunately, they did not get to have a Spring season and have the opportunity, to finish out their years as RiverDell Blackhawks together. There is no doubt that they were expected to play tough and finish their Blackhawks experience strong. The team is comprised of tremendous athletes that will succeed in a huge way individually. Each of them will be a great addition to whatever team they may play for in the Fall. All the best is wished for them as they move forward.
